I remember starting Pre-Cal in high school with the worst grade in class and finishing with the best grade in class. Yes, better grade than all of the boys in that class!

But, I must admit, for me it comes down to interest. I have low interest in math. I must make myself interested in order to do well in it. Mary Kay Ash was not interested in numbers when she was opening her own company. She let her husband deal with that. Could it be that women in general have low interest in math?
